Wind & Sails Creative decided to devise and launch this new initiative during lockdown. We used our
design and marketing skills to do “our bit” and at no cost to local businesses in devising the
campaign / branding / website / social media and promotional items to help our fellow FY8 businesses
get back on their feet.
Our work involved devising and designing the FY8LOVE campaign name / branding and an accompanying
campaign logo. Taking inspiration from the FY8 “by the sea” location and local landmarks plus past
local coat of arms, the campaign logo and theme was designed to be bold, bright, modern, and
memorable to maximise stand out and audience awareness!
From here, the look and feel established was used to develop and build a fully responsive bespoke
website, carry across all social media, form the basis of all the graphic design and print work etc.
The website for both business and public users was at the heart of the campaign. All FY8 businesses
large and small can unite under the FY8LOVE “banner”, promote themselves and “show off their wares”.
From a local restaurant offer, to the latest fashion arrivals in store, the newest beauty treatment,
a customer event, a unique service you did not know about, a good news story or initiative – the
FY8LOVE campaign allows FY8 businesses the chance to post up and raise awareness of everything they
have to offer.
FY8 businesses can upload their own individual “postcards” to the homepage of the site to raise
awareness of what their business has to offer, any new products, post lockdown promotions and
offers, events etc. (sorted by business category) as part of our “virtual FY8LOVE billboard” or shop
window initiative to allow the local businesses to reach as big a local audience as possible.
We also created a business directory section within the site which again mirrored the highly visual
image-based theme we established on the homepage “cards” section. They are listed by their business
category and this links to their own respective business listing page which enables them to tell
everyone who they are and their own unique story about what they do. Location and contact details
plus links out to their own website and other social channels for to drive traffic and followers
were also built in.
Public users can also create their own unique FY8LOVE homepage feed for all their favourite business
card posts. In addition, they can also follow all their favourite FY8 businesses via the business
bio pages and create their own unique favourite FY8 businesses feed.
A business recruitment and launch campaign was devised to raise awareness and drive traffic to the
site via a social media campaign aimed at our local FY8 audience and beyond. This was then rolled
out alongside a local poster campaign, leaflet drop, ad campaign and local media PR. We even
designed and printed free point-of-sale material for local participating businesses to display on
site to their customers.
